KARACHI: A delegation of MQM led by Governor Sindh called on President Asif Ali Zardari in Bilawal House here on Tuesday night and discussed issues between the coalition partners. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and resulted in a broad understanding on important issues of concern. A press conference will be held shortly by Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Governor Sindh and Chief Minister Sindh in the Governor House about the understanding reached. The meeting was attended by Interior Minister, Chief Minister Sindh and Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar. MQM delegation included Governor Ishratul Ibad, Farooq Sattar, Sagheer Ahmad, Raza Haroon, Waseem Aftab, Babar Ghouri, Adil Siddiqui and Sardar Ahmad. The President also talked with Altaf Hussain on phone.
KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s magic once again bought Pakistan People’s Party more time in Government, as an agreement seems to have been reached between PPP and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Geo News reported Monday. A meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Eban Khan it both the parties decided to continue the policy of reconciliation in larger interest of the country. Interior Minister Rehman Malik was also present on the occasion. The meeting termed the reconciliation as imperative in order to ensure political stability in the country. On the occasion Rehman Malik briefed President Zardari about his meeting with MQM Chief Altaf Hussain in London while Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad apprised him about the grievances of MQM.
