Sharif unsatisfied over BB murder report

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif said rafts of questions regarding the murder of Benazir Bhutto are left unanswered, Geo News reported Saturday. Talking to media, he said the question why the place of BB’s murder was washed out hurriedly, is still unsatisfied. Commenting on Hazara situation, he said the elements of vested interests fueled the fire in Hazara and burnished their image at the cost of Pakistan, adding his party conceded to the Awami National Party (ANP) in the larger national interest. ‘If my politics is put at stake, I do not mind; but, the country should remain intact,’ he said.

HPM to observe token hunger strike today

HAZARA: Hazara Province Movement (HPM) will observe a token hunger strike in Hazara Division today against approval of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw name in the Senate. According to HPM leaders, the protest has been delayed till April 18. A meeting of cover committee of HPM will be held in which leaders of all five districts Abbotabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Batgram and Kohistan will take part and chalk out the future’s strategy. The leaders of Hazara Movement said that despite approval of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw name in the Senate, the people of Hazar Division are in favour of Hazara province.

Reservations of Hazara will be removed: Asfandyar

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali Thursday said the reservations of the people of Hazara region with regard to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa would be removed soon. “It is a problem within our home and will be settled within it”, he said. Replying to a question, Asfandyar Wali said his party has contacted the political parties of Hazara and all reservations over the issue will be satisfactorily resolved.

Hazara province is imminent: PML-Q

KARACHI: PML-Q Sindh General Secretary Haleem Adil Sheikh said Wednesday that his party would not allow the creation of ‘Greater Afghanistan’ in the name of Pakhtunkhwa. Addressing a news conference here, he said establishment of Hazara province was imminent. “We stand by the people of Hazara in their demands for a separate province,” he said. “If supporting the Hazarewals is a sin, we will continue to commit this sin,” Sheikh said. He accused PML-N and PPP of deteriorating law and order situation in peaceful Hazara Division.

Financial help announced for Hazara victims

PESHAWAR: The NWFP Government has announced to extend financial assistance to the victims of Hazara protests. Announcing the package, Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said today families of those killed in Abbottabad protests would get Rs300, 000 each while the injured will be paid Rs100, 000 each. It may be reminded that nine people were killed and dozens others wounded when police opened direct fire on the enraged protestors in Abbottabad against the renaming of NWFP as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Following the death of innocent people, tension prevails in Abbottabad and other districts of Hazara division.

PML-N leaders reach Hazara

HARIPUR: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif along with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and opposition leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan have reached Hazara on Wednesday.
